After the United States accused Iran of attacking Saudi Arabia’s oil facilities behind the scenes, the Pentagon today agreed to send 3,000 troops and military equipment to Saudi Arabia to help Saudi Arabia strengthen its defense.

Agence France-Presse reported that the Pentagon statement stated that Defense Minister Mark Esper approved the addition of two Patriot missile companies, a Sadad anti-missile system (THAAD), two fighter squadrons and a Air Force Expeditionary Wing.

The statement pointed out that “Defence Minister Esper will inform the King of the Reserves and Defense Minister Mohammed bin Salman this morning that he will send more troops to ensure and strengthen the defense of the sand country.”
